ROWNEY EGG TEMPERA

Rowney Egg Tempera Colours are made to a formula based on a 19th century method of dispersing traditional pigments in an egg yolk and linseed oil emulsion. The colour is used extensively by restorers, conservators and specialist artists. It can be used on a wide variety of grounds including walls, canvas, hardboard, paper, ivorine, and gesso primed boards etc. It dries quickly and should be used in thin glazes with only water to reduce its strength. It is an ideal UNDERPAINTING for oils and is water resistant when completely dry.
