ROBERSON OIL MEDIUMS

Turpentine-Dammar-Stand oil-Cobalt Driers. Mix with either tube oil colour or dry pigment to increase translucency and improve flow. Ideal for thin glazes, fine detail and smooth brushwork.

Mastic resin-gum arabic-linseed oil. Mixed in equal parts with oil colours gives a lasting brilliance to the colours. Produces a workable consistency and prevents the sinking of colour when using wet-in-wet technique.

Refined beeswax-turpentine-synthetic copal varnish. When mixed with oil colours 1:3 & thinned with turpentine to the desired consistency, it may be used on any surface prepared for oil painting. The finished work has a non-reflecting surface visible from any angle and ideal for mural paintings.

Oil of spike lavender-linseed oil-paraffin wax-turps. When this is mixed with oil colours it is possible to paint onto textile fabric designs which will stand up to subsequent washing with soap and water. Also used for preliminary studies in oils upon unprepared drawing paper and for use where flexibility combined with a matt surface is desirable.

Cobalt naphthenate/white spirit. Add sparingly to oil colours to accelerate drying. Thin with white spirit.

Olea-resin from balsam fir tree. Superior to venice turps where clarity & rapid drying are important.

South American origin. Viscous liquid dilutable with turpentine. Used to restore and revive varnish and brittle paint layers.

A slow drying thixotropic balsam for use in mediums and varnishes. From Austrian larch tree. Warm in warm water bath to make more fluid.

Cleansing/Reviving/Preserving wax paste for oil paintings, objets d'art & sculpture. Not for drawings, watercolours or pastels.
